Christy Alvillar
Christy is in her 15th year of coaching club. The previous 9 years she coached at Lake Cities Edge in the Flower Mound area. She has coached 15’s-17’s age levels. Her coaching experience includes an assistant position at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Not only has she coached volleyball at the college level, but she also played at Texas A&M University Commerce. She also coached at the high school level where she was head coach for 7 years at Life School Dallas. She is currently in her 3rd season as the J.V. coach at Hockaday.
As a player Christy received many honors. In high school she was named All-District all four years. Her senior year she was named to her All-State team. She then went to Seward County Community College a Junior College in Liberal, Kansas. While there she was part of a team that made history by going 52-2, that year they placed 5th in the nation. She then finished her career at Texas A&M-Commerce where she was named to the All Conference team 3 years in a row.
Bethany Worrell
This is Bethany’s second year coaching club volleyball at Summit. She was the assistant coach for the 12 Nike Elite team last year. Bethany played club for 7 years, starting out as a setter/hitter and transitioning to libero/ds as she got older. Since attending the University of Arkansas (woo pig!!), she has extended her love for volleyball to the sand game. Now you can catch her playing in sand volleyball leagues all over the Dallas area or attending AVP tournaments around the country.
